Yeah, I'm late writing this because there was work that I couldn't leave hanging haha. But it's okay, better late than never β
With this retrospective, I'm actually reminding myself how much I've grown and what I've accomplished.
Here we go, the 2022 retrospective.
Recovery from Accident
Long story short, I experienced a motorcycle accident in mid-2021 that resulted in broken bones in my right ankle and left wrist.

Recovery lasted for 9 months, during which time I had difficulty walking and typing.
I was truly resting at home, rarely even turning on the computer, and could only type with my right hand :(
By the end of 2021, my foot and hand gradually recovered. At the beginning of 2022, I felt that my foot and hand had completely recovered and I could be active as usual. Alhamdulillah :)
First Freelance Project
Actually, the biggest goal in 2022 was to work or earn money that could be done from home.
After being officially unemployed for 9 months due to recovery, I finally got my first freelance project offer at the beginning of the year, I was so happy!
Set Up Workspace
After getting my first freelance project, I started thinking "wow, I need to start organizing my workspace".
At that time, my plan was to continue working from home and POSSIBLY start a new careerβas a freelancer or content creator.
From the beginning of the year, I gradually started organizing my workspace, buying equipment that could support my work.
This is what my workspace looks like now:

Simple, what matters is comfort.
Content Creation
I learned many new things, because I started trying to share things about web development through video content.
Basic video editing, audio recording, scripting for video content and many other small things.
The most complicated part was setting up audio recording, especially the hardware. Because honestly this was my first experience, and I had minimal knowledge too.
But I have been thoroughly enjoying the process, and the final result has exceeded my expectations!
Personal Website
I've never been able to have a personal website that was really made to be taken seriously, because I was constrained by time when I worked at the company before.
Well, in Q4 2022 I finally started designing this website. Also as a place to showcase projects that have been made, and for portfolio too right π
And then exactly on New Year's Eve, I changed this from a regular single repository to a monorepo. What for, I wonder? π
What's Next for 2023
There won't be a retrospective without 2023 resolutions. Entering 2023 with optimism, this year is full of exciting plans.
There are many things that can be done this year, such as:
- fill in all content on the personal website.
- create several new projects.
- be more active in sharing about web development.
- set up a hybrid workspace to be comfortable for work and content creation.
- build a pc π
But the biggest target is: full-time remote work and having my own SAAS.
Good luck to me!
